Val\u00e9rie de Roquemaurel is a glass artist specialising in molten glass techniques. <\/span><\/div>\n
For nearly two decades, she has been shaping and blowing this mesmerising material in her eight furnaces, heated to temperatures excessing 1,000 degrees Celsius. Her artistry combines traditional glassblowing with cold-working techniques, such as sandblasting and stencil use, to decorate and perfect her creations.<\/span><\/div>\n

Born in Toulouse, France, in 1982, Val\u00e9rie inherited her father\u2019s discipline and her grandmother\u2019s meticulousness. Her artistic journey has been enriched by the discoveries and meaningful encounters that have shaped her life. She moved to Pomy, Switzerland, in 2007, where she settled permanently, embraced Swiss nationality and continued to explore her craft.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/section>

Val\u00e9rie\u2019s creativity was nurtured from an early age. Her artistic path began at the age of five when a teacher recognised her potential and encouraged her parents to enrol her in art training. This led to early studies in drawing, art history, and sculpture. After completing design studies, Val\u00e9rie discovered her true passion for glass during an internship that profoundly changed her life. Originally planned for three weeks, the internship extended to eight months despite numerous challenges, including a severe chest burn and a workshop fire. These experiences marked the beginning of her vocation.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

Her training continued in north-eastern France, where she mastered the intricate techniques of working glass at 900\u00b0C. Val\u00e9rie describes glass as a magical material, offering endless possibilities of colour and luminous effects.<\/p>\n

She integrates her drawing skills into her glasswork, using techniques like sandblasting to create matt or glossy textures.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Her creations draw inspiration from nature and everyday life, reflecting a sense of spontaneity and sensitivity.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/section>

Val\u00e9rie finds inspiration in the simple moments of life, human connections, and the natural world. Her pieces, often crafted through complex multi-step processes, require both patience and precision. From the demanding coordination of the glassblowing phase to the meditative process of sandblasting, each creation represents a meticulous artistic journey.
\nA designer at heart, Val\u00e9rie considers artisanal craftsmanship the purest expression of her profession. Her creations exude refined poetry, combining intuitive artistry with technical mastery of form and line.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/section>

Val\u00e9rie treasures the diversity of her profession, where she takes on multiple roles\u2014from crafting her art to maintaining her furnaces\u2014while managing the administrative and human aspects of her workshop.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/section>

Today, Val\u00e9rie shares her passion through prestigious collections showcased in renowned venues such as the restaurant of the H\u00f4tel de Ville in Crissier, Maison Wenger in Noirmont, the Fondation de l\u2019Estr\u00e9e in Roprazand The Alpina Gstaad.<\/p>\n

For the end of the year, she has created two exclusive collections for Adler boutiques in Geneva and Gstaad<\/a>. The Geneva boutique features a series of sculptures, orbs, and light fixtures with matt finishes and subtle colour gradients. These pieces harmonise seamlessly with Adler\u2019s jewellery collections, adding a luminous and poetic touch to the space. Meanwhile, the Gstaad boutique presents glittering sculptures that perfectly complement the displayed jewellery, creating radiant reflections that enhance the aesthetic of the pieces. Each creation has been thoughtfully designed to resonate with Adler\u2019s jewellery enhancing the artistic and vibrant dimension of the collections.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>
